Qualifications / Experience
Essential Functions
- Cash posting
- Knowledge and understanding of GAAP Accounting
- Reconcile weekly bank slips, merchant reports, all sales and sales tax general ledger accounts
- Accounts Receivable (A/R) - post invoices and apply payments
- Merchant sales – separate AMEX from other credit card settlements and post
- Prepare Profit & Loss excel files for coming month
- Assist with accounts payable and preparing/mailing weekly check run
- Filing of payables, check requests and other documents
- Scanning of bank reconciliations, bank statements and other documents
- Preparation of monthly financial statements
- Inventory management and record keeping
- Verify electronic fund transfer (EFT) totals and check issue totals with bank institutions
- Operates office equipment (scanner, copier, printer, computer, etc.)
- Adjusts claims as necessary, including reversing, re-adding and correcting
Skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Independent worker with ability to work with others
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel and Outlook
Education
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- 4+ years experience as an Accountant or in a related field
